Steel, and Why That Changes Things
Sportsheets makes these from 100% stainless steel, which they describe as rust-proof and built to last. That does two things a silicone ball cannot.
It puts more weight into the same small shape, so you get resistance without bulk – which is the whole point once the light silicone set has stopped being work. And because steel is nonporous, it cleans completely and will outlast every other material in this category. There is nothing in it to break down, nothing to go tacky, and no replacement cycle.
No Cord, and What That Means
These are loose balls with a storage pouch – no retrieval string. Worth being straight about: that is a preference question, not a safety one. The vagina is a closed space, so nothing can travel out of reach, and bearing down gently brings them back. But if removal is the part that makes you nervous, a tethered set is the better first purchase and you can come back to steel later.
A Note on the Published Size
The manufacturer lists the diameter as “1-inch (20mm)” – and those two figures do not agree, since one inch is 25.4mm. We have flagged it with them rather than pick whichever number suits us. Treat it as roughly three-quarters to one inch and size up from there. Sportsheets does not publish a weight for these, so we are not going to print one.
Who This Is For
Someone who has already done a few weeks with something lighter and wants more resistance, or anyone who would rather buy one thing that lasts forever than a progression of silicone sets. Not the right first purchase if you have never done this before.
Slip Into It
The first thing you notice is the cold, and then how quickly it stops being cold. Steel takes your temperature faster than you expect. The weight is honest – there is no mistaking whether you are holding it or not, which is exactly what you want from a training tool. Ten slow squeezes, a full release between each, and by the end of the set you know you have done something. Then it goes back in the pouch and lasts another decade.
Why Buy It Here
We have been selling adult toys since 1996. Every order ships in a plain, unmarked box with a discreet billing name, US shipping is free over $75, and we have never sold a customer’s name.
Questions
Are these good for a beginner? Not as a first set. Steel carries more weight in a small shape and there is no retrieval cord, so a lighter tethered set is the better starting point. These are the step up from that.
Do they have a retrieval string? No. They are loose balls with a storage pouch. For vaginal use that is safe – the vagina is a closed space and bearing down gently brings them within reach – but a tethered set is more reassuring if removal makes you anxious.
How much do they weigh? Sportsheets does not publish a weight for these, and the shipping weights quoted by distributors are not product weights, so we are not going to print a figure.
How do I clean stainless steel kegel balls? Warm water and mild soap, or a toy cleaner. Steel is nonporous so it cleans completely, and unlike silicone there is no lubricant type you need to avoid.
Can these be used anally? No. Loose balls with no retrieval cord and no flared base are for vaginal use only, because the rectum is not a closed space.
